Dr. Smita B Kalappa

Dr Smita has obtained her MBBS degree from SS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Davangere. She has completed her post graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the prestigious Seth GS medical college and KEM hospital, Mumbai, one of the top medical institutions in India.

She has done her hysteroscopy and laparoscopy training from JK Women Hospital, Dombivili, under the renowned Dr S Krishnakumar. She has worked as Senior Resident and Assistant Professor in the Government Medical College, Kolhapur. She has obtained Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK in 2023 and was also awarded the Gold Medal in the membership examination.

She has been working since the past five years in many high patient load centres and is experienced in handling high risk obstetric cases and in conducting normal vaginal deliveries, instrumental deliveries and caesarean sections. She is also proficient in dealing with varied gynaecological problems, fertility issues and in performing minimally invasive and open gynaecological surgeries.

She has a keen interest in offering family planning services, lactation counselling and cancer prevention services.

She is well versed in multiple languages, is a patient listener and compassionate doctor and promotes individualised and patient centric care.

• Fellowship in Gynecological Endoscopy (ICOG).
