If you are sweating after giving birth, it means that your pregnancy hormones are making your return to your pre-pregnancy self.
When a woman is pregnant, her body retains a lot of fluid. Most of this fluid is seen in the face or the lower half of the body. After you have given birth, the hormones that helped in retaining fluids during the pregnancy will help you get rid of it. It will shed all the extra fluid. So, you will be sweating profusely and urinating frequently.
Sweating after giving birth is not a safety issue. However, it can be extremely uncomfortable.
Drinking water can help reduce sweating as it will push the fluid to go out of the body through urination. It will also help you stay hydrated that will prevent other health problems. At night, for preventing your sheets and bed linens from getting soaked, you should place a towel under your body. Place a fan on your side for easing up sweating. You can use baby powder for stopping friction that might be causing a rash. Make sure that the baby powder is not talc but made of 100% corn starch.
